Why I haven’t uploaded any video on Youtube yet.

There are fears in all of us, but sometimes it is not our fear that holds us back, it is our insecurities. Since 2019 I wanted to start my Youtube channel and although I found some ideas, bought a good computer for editing, I still haven’t upload a single video. Or to be more accurate, I uploaded 2 videos of just me playing some games, without any actual talking, since Youtube needs three videos so the channel can be found. But why I haven’t done the first step yet?

First of all, it is not as easy as it seem for some people, to get out of the private life and the shadows, and step into a new world of showing their face to strangers. I was a really shy kid, and it took me many years to change this. I got rid of it when I was in high school, and it felt nice to be around people, make people laugh, and belong to some groups. But when I decided to move to another country and start from the beginning, I felt that, that kid started coming back and taking over. Of course some situations played a vital part, but it was not the reason that this happened.

Another reason, is one of the most common. “What will people say?”. Unfortunately people tend to be bad, or at least a big percent of them. Not because they want to hurt others, but because they are not happy with their lives, and they want to drug other down so they can feel better. Once I told some good friends that I want to start this, the responses were as expected “You? are you serious?”, “Don’t be childish”, “You will embarrass yourself”, and many more other things. Why people can’t be supportive to others, either friends, family, or strangers? Everybody has a dream. Not all of the people are born to become doctors, lawyers or managers. So imagine if you don’t have the support of your own people at the beginning, how can you hope to succeed?

The next reason is the doubt of if I am good enough. It is common for people who want to start a Youtube channel, to have this fear or doubt, because there are so many big channels out there, big names who tried almost everything. So the question that runs in the mind of those people is “what do I have to offer?”. I was thinking about it for long time, and I realized that no matter what your content is going to be, there will always be people interested on what you do. It might not be the friends you had, but since you are building a community with a Youtube channel, it is the friends you are going to get.

So no matter what you do, you must always believe in your self. Sometimes you will fall, sometimes you will fail, but all of those times will mean nothing in front of the moment that you will succeed. You must never forget the lessons you got from those moments, otherwise you might repeat them. Learn, adapt, succeed. I learned this the last couple of years, and this is why I will not longer stay back, leaving my dream like that.
